WHAT HAPPENS?

A one to one class is suitable for anyone. Whether you are a total beginner with no experience in millinery, or whether you are an already established milliner but want to hone your skills in a certain fabric or technique, then we can tailor the day to suit your needs.

If you have never made anything before, don't worry, we have all day. You will be amazed at what you can achieve. You will leave with at least one, but possibly two, completed pieces, and be bursting with pride. Maybe you have an important occasion coming up and fancy the idea of making your own headpiece. Or maybe you're off to the races, and have always wanted to say "oh thanks, I made it myself", when someone admires your hat!

Or if you already have experience, then it's always a good idea to upskill and try something new. A new technique you haven't tried, or work with a fabric you haven't used before. We can discuss what you would like to get out of our time together, and I will structure the day according to your requirements. 

Maybe you're a milliner who only works with sinamay, and would like to find out more about the other fabrics, like jinsin, or crinoline, or buntal, or felt. Or maybe you have a good knowledge of everything, but would like to focus in on a specific technique like blocking, or trimming etc.

Maybe you'd just like a play day, to create and experiment. I personally take a day or two every year where I go and do a one to one class with a different milliner. I find the day beneficial in so many ways. When you're a working milliner, so often you spend your time making orders and stock. It can be hard to find the time to simply be creative for the day, and create for the sake of creation. Not for the sale! Play days like this are an essential part of keeping that creativity fresh and flowing. Plus, you will always learn something new. Always.
